St Michael Llanyblodwel: Adopt a slate appeal

If you have ever visited St Michael's, Llanyblodwel, you could not have left without being just a little bit changed; touched by its tranquillity and beauty.

The early Celtic Christians recognised that there are 'thin' places, places where heaven comes close to earth. The ancient site on which it stands is just such a place. Come here and you cannot help but be aware of its sense of peace and holiness. It is truly special. Each year around 1500 people come to visit.

Work is now desperately needed to the roof to stop further rain damage to the beautiful painted interior and also for repairs to the building and stonework.

To do this we need to raise in excess of £150,000 and any help you can give us will be very gratefully received. We have embarked on a year of fundraising and have launched an 'Adopt a Slate' campaign.

Adopt a slate campaign

Slates can be 'adopted' for £10 each. Donations of any amount will be welcome and all will be recorded in a commemorative book which will be on display in the church for posterity.

If you have any queries please contact me, Rev. Christopher Penn on (00 44) 01691 831211.

If you would like to help us please send a cheque, made out to 'St Michael's Church Restoration Account', to the Church Warden, Mr Rod Cousins, Riverslea, Llanyblodwel, Shropshire SY10 8NQ, UK.

Or, if it is more convenient to you, there is the option of donating on line via the website: www.justgiving.com/smcl.

We look forward to hearing from you, and perhaps even a visit.

Yours in the joy of His service,

Rev Christopher Penn.
